We celebrate Edith Head legacy
Today Google and social networks, like twitter celebrate the talented costume designer Edith Head. She was born October 28, 1897 and died on October 24, 1981. She was nominated for a total of 35 Academy Awards. She won eight Academy Awards for her work outfitting Audrey Hepburn, Bette Davis, Elizabeth Taylor, and Olivia de Havilland. She is know for her fashion iconic trends. For example the figure-loving sarong she invented for a slightly zaftig Dorothy Lamour in The Jungle Princess (1936), and the toreador pants she designed to emphasize Audrey Hepburn’s gamine grace in both Sabrina (1954) and Funny Face (1957).” These designs got a lot of praise. The costume designer Edith Head issued a no-nonsense dress code for the 1968 Academy Awards, instructing that all female guests to stick to floor-length dresses and pastels. She got it like that. She deserves to be acknowledge in the fashion world today!
Happy Birthday To You Edith Head!
